Justin Trudeau’s son Xavier “Xev” Trudeau has opened up about his unexpected bond with pop sensation Katy Perry.
During an appearance on the latest episode of can’t be censored podcast, the 18-year-old Canadian singer said she’s thrilled to see her dad dating the pop star because Katy is “so cool.”
“When I’m really happy with a song I send it (to her),” Xavier said of his relationship with his father’s new girlfriend. “She’s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change.”
He further said that he has a good relationship with dark Horse Hitmaker.
“She’s very nice. She’s very down to earth. She’s very nice,” said Xavier. “I think it’s important that my dad is happy.”
When asked what came to his mind when he saw a picture of Justin and Katy together.
To which he replied, “Nothing, it was just like any other picture of my father and my mother. Or just my father.”
“My life is so crazy sometimes. I’m like, what is my life? What is it all about?” Xavier shared. “I just laugh. The reality of it is this is my life. What can I do? What can I change?”
Speaking about his own public persona, Justin’s son said he doesn’t “really care” about what other people think.
“I’ve been told my whole life, ‘Don’t read the comments,'” he said, adding that he has always been in the spotlight thanks to his father’s political career.
He further added, “The hate, it gets to me sometimes. I think it’s ingrained in my mind, I think about it when someone comments on my video, when someone shares my video, when someone likes it, it helps me.”
It is worth mentioning here that romance rumors were sparked between Justin and Katy in October 2025 when the two were seen on a date in Paris, France.
