Rapper Tokischa has caused a stir by stripping off for a provocative photo shoot in a church.
Church bosses reprimanded the 30-year-old – full name Tokischa Altagracia Peralta – after she was spotted wearing the clothes. next Nothing inside the Basilica.

A spokesperson said: “We deeply regret the misuse of a sacred space to create material that is contrary to the respect of such a place and which offends the religious sensitivities of the faithful.”
Tokischa was filming for her music video for (No)Margin – Part 1 – ‘Bissaus Bissaus’, which was premiered on March 25 to her over two million subscribers.
The diocese claims that last July, production company Visor lied about the nature of the filming.
It claims that Visor requested permission film “A brief look inside one of the diocese’s churches, promising it will be a ‘reflective and respectful moment, with no dialogue or any activity that would disrupt the normal operation of the space’.”
When pressed for more details, the company said it was a “cultural project aimed at promoting Basque culture through an intimate, poetic story”.
After investigating Tokischa and Visor’s previous work, the diocese reportedly rejected the request.
But Visor reportedly went after it, and contacted other officials associated with the basilica without disclosing the denial.
The diocese said: “It is being investigated whether these actions may require any kind of legal or canonical action.
“Only worship, piety and activities supporting and propagating religion are permitted at a sacred site, and anything inconsistent with the sanctity of the site is prohibited.”
Controversy is nothing new for Tokischa, from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and he has been embroiled in similar incidents before.
