Duchess Sophie and her husband Prince Edward had dinner with disgraced Andrew over Easter, which apparently pleased the former Duke of York, it has been claimed.
According to a report by daily Mail, Sophie and Andrew took a private Easter weekend visit to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Wood Farm at the Sandringham estate amid growing concerns over the former Duke of York’s mental state.
The report claims, “Edward and Sophie had dinner with Andrew one night over the weekend and they talked. It’s true to say that they both feel sorry for Andrew and how far he has fallen and they are concerned about his fragile mental state.”
“They feel for him, but it certainly doesn’t excuse his behavior,” the insider told the outlet.
The royal couple usually stay at Wood Farm during their visit to Sandringham, but this Easter they were unable to do so while Andrew was still living there.
The close confidant added: “It’s a tough balancing act to support him while not condoning what he’s gotten involved in.”
After the private meeting, on Tuesday, 7 April, Andrew finally moved from Wood Farm to Marsh Farm.
Earlier, there were reports that Edward had become the first royal to meet his disgraced brother Andrew at Wood Farm in Norfolk, where he has been kept in isolation since being kicked out of the Royal Lodge by King Charles.
Since leaving the Royal Lodge Andrew has been ignored by everyone, including his daughters and ex-wife who have stayed away.
