A few years ago, Spotify announced that it was adding support for music video playback on the app to add a little more immersion to users’ listening experiences. With this in mind, the platform Now introducing new video controlsWhich gives users the option to focus more on their music, at least in terms of sound.
Starting today, family plan managers can now turn off video content for other plan members through their membership settings; Previously, this option was limited to users under 13, however the new update also extends it to all members under the Family plan. The new change is starting globally from today.
Additionally, Spotify says it will bring new settings to Premium and Basic customers (including Individual, Duo, Family, and Student plans), allowing them to control how videos appear on their app. It should be noted that this upcoming update will arrive later this month.

Users can access video controls through Spotify app > Settings > Content & performanceWhere they can choose to turn on (or off) canvas looping visuals or videos for music or podcasts. The changes will apply to all devices where they use the platform; Spotify makes it clear that ads will continue to run where applicable.
