AI assistants are a dime a dozen these days, so choosing the best option can be a matter of trial and error. Many readers, including my colleagues, usually limit the choices to three powerful and popular options: ChatGPT, Cloud, and Gemini. But as a consumer, which of these three do you use the most?
My colleague Shimul Sood recently looked at these big hitters in a feature article, and she believes one is particularly ahead of the other two in terms of usability and functionality. Do readers agree? We asked you to choose your champion in a poll and here are the results.

This survey received over 8,000 votes, indicating that this question has bothered our readers. However, as for the winner, the most used AI assistant is Gemini, which received just under 40% of the votes. In nominal terms, this means that two out of every five respondents choose Gemini over the AI options available to them, or use all three on rotation or as needed.

Although Gemini has won this particular popularity battle, it is clear that many users choose it because it is the most widely available, not necessarily the best at all functions.
Commenter ssdmypc writes, “Gemini came with my Pixel 10 Pro phone. After using other free AI, this was no easy task.”
Reader Bluefury echoes this viewpoint:
I have a Gemini, only because it came with my latest phone… I’ve already downgraded it to get rid of it… In August I’ll be paying for one with no AI, like pre-AI, and I plan to abandon any plans that involve upgrading to AI.
Some people use Gemini because of its integration with Google services. smanofsteel76 notes that “Google’s AI plan is a better deal, especially if you’re all in the Google ecosystem!”

What about Cloud and ChatGPT? Well, Shimul’s Choice is the second most popular AI assistant. Cloud received only a quarter (25.4%) of the total votes, while ChatGPT received a fifth (20.9%).
About 13.9% of the respondents admitted to using all three, highlighting their practicality. And, although it was not an option in the survey, many readers informally voted “none” in the comments. It is clear that AI assistants and products still face a lot of resistance in the community.
