Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor share details about their personal lives.
In an interview with People Magazine, the couple revealed how they included their children in Stiller’s documentary.
Taylor said her children were given the freedom to choose how much they wanted to share, which created a respectful and supportive environment.
“I remember it so distinctly, like I remember you saying to both of us, ‘How would you feel?'” she said, adding Stiller, “If you’re not comfortable… we don’t have to put it in.”
Additionally, Taylor shared that her son Quinn was “very honest… but open and loving about it.”
The American actress said, “He was able to tell you some difficult things, but you know, very frankly and in a very kind way, it was not filled with outrage.”
Additionally, Stiller said the process pushed them beyond their normal limits, adding, “It’s also something we hadn’t done, I’d never really done before, being so open about personal things.”
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor also talked about the impact of isolation following the COVID-19 pandemic. Taylor said, “Surround yourself with people who make you feel good. People who bring a smile to your face when they walk in the room, who light you up, who fill you up.”
Describing the influence of social media, Taylor said, “It’s very easy to just go on your phone and scroll through and see everyone else’s great life, but none of it is real… that’s curated.”
Stiller said, “The real thing is you know what makes you laugh… the people who make you happy.”
