Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry suffered an ankle strain while playing against the Sacramento Kings.
On Friday, April 10, the 33-year-old American basketball point guard suffered a minor injury to his ankle while attempting a steal against Kings guard Devin Carter during the second quarter.
Videos and pictures coming from the game showed an awkward and painful twist of his ankle; However, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, he is expected to be back when the Warriors face off with the LA Clippers on Sunday, April 12.
After Curry’s injury and limited chances to take the field on Sunday, the Warriors suffered another blow, losing the game to the Kings by just six points, as the Kings scored 124 while the Warriors were stuck at 118.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr showed unwavering confidence in his team, saying, “I think we can win two games because I know these guys and I believe in them.”
“But I also know we’re not where we need to be. We showed that tonight. So, on Sunday I’d like to get more reps. Focus more, make less mistakes and we’ll have a few days to prepare and then work on it,” he quipped.
It’s worth mentioning that Curry, who soaked his ankle in ice water afterward, is determined to play Sunday’s game against the LA Clippers.
“As long as it’s not my knee. I can deal with ankles,” said the footballer, sitting in his seat in the visiting locker room with a towel over his head and his ankles in icy water.
Stephen Curry quipped, “I’ve been struggling with this forever. So that was the interesting part. My knee felt pretty good. Even better than the last game.”
