Justin Bieber delivered a low-key headlining set at Coachella on Saturday night, opting for a stripped-back performance with minimal stage design and no backup dancers.
He sat for about 30 minutes on his laptop playing snippets of his early hits, including “Baby” and “Never Say Never”, directly from YouTube.
The show received mixed reactions online, with some calling it lazy and weak compared to Sabrina Carpenter’s dramatic set the previous night.
Hours after his performance, rumors began circulating that the Canadian singer had been deported by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
A report said, “Justin Bieber has reportedly been deported back to Canada after the TSA caught him trying to fly back home from Coachella with an “expired visa.” A widely circulated report claimed the singer was fighting with the TSA for an hour before he was finally arrested. Fans have already started a petition online to try to get him released. Did he deserve it?”
However, official sources rejected this report as fake.
On Monday, White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt re-shared a video of Justin Bieber on Instagram Stories with the caption “Justin Bieber takes Coachella to church”.
