Buckingham Palace is reportedly keeping a close eye on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the couple travels to Australia.
According to royal sources, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s non-royal visit is a “stress test” for the monarchy.
The pair arrived in Australia on a commercial flight and began their itinerary with a hospital visit, with a source claiming the trip could serve as a blueprint for similar independent trips in the future.
The tour is being described as “a significant joint tour” and could prove to be a template for future tours of this type.
Speaking on this, royal expert Matt Wilkinson warned that success in Australia would be “a dummy run and testing ground for a possible joint tour of the UK.”
A palace source also said they had “carefully observed the reaction the couple has received in Australia.”
