Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s unofficial biographer has a lot to say against the King’s brother and claims he demands he ‘right’ whatever happened to affect the firm’s image, even if it means ‘falling on his sword’ and stepping down in favor of Prince William, who due to his place in the line of succession is still insulated from the furor surrounding his uncle.
The whole thing is shared during Mr. Looney’s interview royalist podcast, Because he was quite candid during that chat.
In their view, the issues surrounding Andrew, his relationship with a convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as well as the allegations of misconduct against him, are becoming worse over time.
In his view, “This is a cover-up, and the cover-up is proving to be as bad as the initial crimes.”
The author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York also referenced things following the release of his book, stating, “I think the interesting thing is that when my book came out… nothing happened to Andrew.”
He admitted, “The idea at the time was that we would sit on it and the problem would go away.” “And I think it’s only because of this drip, drip feed, and the richness of material that has emerged in very clear black and white now with all these emails, that they have been forced to do anything,” he also said.
But there is a problem with his idea and that is that “despite denying it before, he has to keep denying it.” So, “I mean, I guess they can just hope that the war in the Middle East will distract everyone from this. But I don’t think that’s going to work.”
In his personal view, after spending years in the royal circle, “he accepts that basically Charles will have to fall on his sword, and accept that he…will have to take the blame for it, and William will take over.”
However, Mr Looney admits this is not an immediate advice. Reason being, this would only be necessary if he has revealed that he has “perverted the course of justice.” In the meantime, “the firewalls are going all the way up,” most likely.
Because “They’re throwing all the family members under the bus to distract. They’ll say that, you know, there must be some poor courtier who has to take the rap, and Charles was not briefed, didn’t know anything, but it’s just not conceivable, all the research I’ve done so far on the royal family shows that the people at the top have no idea what’s going on.”
“Especially in a big scam like this, there would have been briefings,” he said, trying to double down on his point.
Before concluding, he made his point a little more clearly, saying, “He took this problem upon himself. If he had dealt with this much earlier, and been more ruthless, these broader questions about royal accountability and prerogative would not be asked, but now questions would also not be asked about the king himself. And I don’t think … if we get more and more evidence that he was warned it will continue to be a permanent situation.”
