FBI search warrants were served Wednesday morning at two other locations — including City Hall and a home in Bel Air — the home of Lancaster’s vice mayor and a council member.
The search began early in the morning at Lancaster City Hall. By mid-morning, FBI agents were also at a home registered in previous candidacy filings for Lancaster Vice Mayor Marvin Crist and the home of Council Member Raj Malhi, according to law enforcement sources.
Those locations were being searched along with a large property in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, the FBI confirmed without identifying who was the target of the activity at the locations. All four are tied to the same investigation.
An FBI spokesperson declined to comment on the nature of the search, citing the sealed warrant.
Crist and Malhi could not immediately be reached for comment.
Law enforcement sources, not authorized to discuss the searches, told The Times that they are part of a long-term federal public corruption investigation. Details of the federal search warrant related to the search are sealed.
