Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 24 was between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). This match will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and it will be a high scoring match. MI won their first game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), since then they have not won any game.
PBKS won the toss and decided to bowl first. During the toss, Hardik Pandya gave an update on former team captain Rohit Sharma as the opener has suffered a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of tonight’s match. Pandya also informed that Mitchell Santner will not be able to play due to the ill health of the New Zealand captain.
Rohit Sharma missed
Rohit Sharma’s exit will be a big blow for the MI team as he has been responsible for giving explosive starts to the five-time winners over the last few years and his leadership input will also be missed in this game. Rohit is currently the highest run scorer for the team.
Rohit Sharma is in great form this season and has performed brilliantly.
He missed his last IPL game in the 2025 season in MI’s clash against LSG after suffering an IT (iliotibial) band injury in the knee.
Rohit has made a good start to the season and has scored 137 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 165.06.
