    TL;DR

    • Anika Bizon, Samsung UK’s vice president of product and marketing for mobile experiences, conducted an AMA on Reddit and answered a number of questions from users.
    • Through the answers, Samsung emphasizes that Galaxy AI is completely optional, allowing skeptical users to disable all features or adopt them one by one to reduce the feeling of “burden”.
    • The company also highlighted the privacy display of the Galaxy S26 Ultra and confirmed that the larger screen remains a priority due to consumer demand.

Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with the Galaxy S24 series, and new features have been introduced in every new Galaxy S release since then. These new features are slowly coming to older flagships, but everyone is still struggling with their usefulness. Samsung recently held an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit, and the answers give us a glimpse of Samsung’s vision for the future of Galaxy AI, as well as the company’s thoughts on its recent flagships.

Anika Bizon, vice president of product and marketing for Samsung UK’s mobile experience, conducted the AMA Samsung UK Reddit sub-forum a week ago, but recently began to answer some interesting questions, as seen android police.

reddit user paulbrock2 When asked how the company is supporting customers who don’t want AI on their devices, and the company responded that they want to make their AI “as easy and intuitive as possible.” Galaxy AI features must be turned on in Galaxy AI Settings during device setup, and users can also choose which AI features to keep on or disable. If users want to run a Samsung device without AI features, Samsung says this is a completely legitimate way to use it and supports it.

When Reddit users CrispyPotatoToteBag He said he couldn’t find a place where AI was “anything but a burden”, adding that Samsung’s advice for people struggling to adopt new ways to be more productive with AI is to “start with one feature and let it do things for you.”

Once AI earns your trust in one area, you start to see where it can really help you, not just where it exists. Your phone should work for you, not the other way around.

For users who are extremely wary of AI, Samsung notes that Galaxy AI features are completely under the user’s control, as they can turn them on and off. The company believes that AI will only truly succeed when it becomes so functional as to be invisible.

We like to think of it as being like the electricity that powers your home… something you depend on without even thinking about it. You just look forward to it and it will be really useful for everything you do in your life. It should feel effortless but, most importantly, it is in your control.

Apart from Galaxy AI, Bizon also helped in marketing the Galaxy S26 Ultra through his answers. When Reddit users remykill When asked how to sell them on the S26 Ultra compared to the S25 Ultra in three sentences, Bizon highlighted the improved rendering engine, faster charging, and the new privacy display.

Samsung UK's response to Reddit AMA

There are a lot of comments praising the privacy display, and while it’s really a great feature, it comes with trade-offs, so be careful.

Interestingly, Reddit user cosinus_square When asked why Samsung doesn’t make smaller phones anymore, the company responded by saying that display size depends on what most users want to do on their devices. Most users use their phones for practically everything, and so they benefit from larger displays. For users who want a compact phone, Samsung is highlighting its Galaxy Z Flip range for its best-of-both-worlds approach.

Samsung UK's response to Reddit AMA (2)

Samsung is clearly betting big on the idea that AI will eventually earn our trust while remaining inevitable. For now, the company is content to let users lead the way, whether that means adopting more productive AI-powered workflows or turning off features altogether and sticking to the traditional smartphone experience. We hope the company takes consumer data-backed action in this area, rather than just rushing ahead with AI features because everyone is calling it “the future” and doing just that.
