Today Host Sheinelle Jones reflects on her past year, which has been defined by deep grief and personal triumph.
As fans may know, Jones’ husband, Uche Ojeh, died in May 2025 after battling brain cancer.
In a new conversation with us weeklySpeaking at the launch event of her Through Mom’s Eyes book held at Double Knot NYC, the show host opened up about dealing with the loss following her sudden loss.
“This year, everyone knows, has been a lot for me,” Jones, who has three children with her husband, began.
He added, “It’s been an emotional roller-coaster.”
For those unaware, Jones and Ojeh met in college and were married for 18 years.
She also said that her focus now is on showing her children that strength and sadness can co-exist.
“I would love for them to see me resilient, strong,” Jones told the outlet while promoting her new book, titled Through Mom’s Eyes, in 2020.
He also shared, “(Matthew McConaughey’s mother) Kay McConaughey told me to never lose my humor.”
“And so I want them to know that these days we have to hold on to two things: We’re grieving, but their father inspired their mother to write this book, and mother kept her promise, and we’re here.”
