After all, the 16-year-old half-brother ofJustin Bieberwas inspired by his faith for his first-ever tattoo
In a picture shared toInstagramAug. 4, Jaxon displayed the script lettering on his right rib cage that read “John 3:17”—a reference to a Bible verse that reads, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Marking the moment, the teenager—whose parents are Justin’s dadJeremy Bieberand his exErin Wagner—simply wrote in the caption, “Tatted.”
While Jaxon has kept mostly out of the spotlight in recent years—last making a public appearance with Justin on the red carpet of the 2016 Grammys—his new tattoo has a special connection to his brother since the “Everything Hallelujah” singer also got his first tattoo when he was 16
Since then, the Grammy winner—whose other siblings include his stepsisterAllie Bieber, 19, and half-sistersJazmyn, 18, andBay, 7—has racked up more than 60 total tattoos, many of which are rooted in his own religious beliefs.

“The bear, which I got in New Zealand, represents rest,” he explained. “As tough and resilient as a bear is, it always hibernates, which is so important. We as humans go, go, and go without resting and it can leave us exhausted and drained.”
The lion on Justin’s top-left chest symbolizes “having a heart of a lion,” and the bird on his neck is also special to him
“It’s a reminder to use the gifts God has given me,” he continued, “and give it all I have—to fly above all of the bulls–t.”
As for the rose placed nearby? As Justin put it, it “reminds me that even though I’m flawed, beauty shines even through our rough edges.”
