The sheriff’s office said several people have been shot at a park near Sacramento.
The shooting occurred at Howe Community Park in the unincorporated community of Arden Arcade, just east of the Sacramento city limits.
“This is a very large scene involving hundreds of potential witnesses,” a sheriff’s spokesman told reporters in a televised briefing. The spokesperson said initial reports suggest the firing took place during a celebration.
