The Palace has shared a message from the late Queen Elizabeth as the royal family prepares to remember her life 100 years after her birth.
Queen Elizabeth lived through an extraordinary period in world history.
As monarch, she consoled the nation in difficult times and was often at the center of celebrations and moments of national pride.
“We look back at some of the historic events that marked his reign and made him enduring in the lives of many of our people,” the palace shared on Sunday.
On Monday, the palace also shared a message from Queen Elizabeth along with a video.
The late queen’s message read, “I declare before all of you that my entire life, whether long or short, will be dedicated to your service.”
On her 21st birthday in 1947, Queen Elizabeth II pledged to dedicate her life to the service of her people.
“She kept her word – continuing to perform official duties until her last days,” the palace says.
Tuesday, April 21 will be Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday.
Meanwhile, King Charles will visit an exhibition dedicated to his late mother’s fashion on Monday, the first of several events to be attended by British royals to mark the late queen’s 100th birthday on Tuesday.
