Buckingham Palace has shared photos of Queen Elizabeth II as the royal family marks the late monarch’s 100th birthday.
Today, April 21, is the centenary of the late Queen, and grand celebrations of Her Highness’s life have begun in England.
The royal family’s official Instagram page uploaded some never-before-seen photographs of the late monarch, ranging from his childhood days before his death.
The image on the first slide shows the late queen smiling while wearing a lilac-coloured dress.
The second slide shows Elizabeth in a full-length dress and wearing a tiara. This photo was apparently taken after he assumed the throne of Great Britain.
While in the third photo, the young Queen, who appears to be in her teens, leaned on a table while posing for the photo.
The last slide is a black-and-white image of the Queen when she was a child.
The caption below the carousel reads, “Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 – 2022.”
As Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebrations began earlier this week, King Charles also paid tribute to the memory of his “dear mother”.
The family shared a video montage of Rani on social media and wrote, “God bless you, dear mama; you will always be in our hearts and prayers.”
“A special tribute from Her Majesty the King on the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II,” the post read.
