TL;DR
- Until recently, we knew that Samsung is preparing two smart glasses for launch this year.
- However, now we’ve discovered a third device that may be arriving, and it’s not the first time we’re hearing about it.
- This headset, codenamed “Hain”, was originally rumored to launch last year, but it has resurfaced in the code of One UI 9.
- Additionally, we learned that these devices will be searchable through
After bringing the Galaxy XR headset to stores last year, Samsung’s next step for XR devices involves a relatively simple device in the form of Meta Ray-Ban-style smart glasses. We already know about two such devices that Samsung is working hard on, but digging into the source code of Samsung’s upcoming One UI 9 firmware, we’ve found hints of a third model. And with that said, we’ve found out how Samsung plans to help you locate your smart glasses if you lose them or leave them behind.
This applies to Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses with model names SM-O200P and SM-O200J and codename “Jinju”.
But that’s not all! In addition to these two pairs of smart glasses, we’ve discovered more hints about a third pair, codenamed “Hain.” The mention itself is not new, and we have been hearing about the said device for over a year. While Hahn was expected to launch alongside the Galaxy XR headset in 2025, that didn’t happen, leaving the device shrouded in mystery.

But with the smart glasses coming out again with the code of One UI 9, we suspect that Samsung may launch it in the coming months.
Apart from the codename, we have also discovered a model number, “SM-O500” for the said pair of smart glasses. This matches the model numbers of the devices listed above – and is significantly different from the Galaxy XR’s model number, SM-I610, making it a strong possibility that this is a regular pair of smart glasses rather than over-the-head immersive gear.
It’s also possible that the SM-O200P and SM-O200J are slightly different versions of the same device, while the SM-O500 is a completely different one. If that assumption (purely an assumption!) is correct, it could explain previous rumors about two (not three) smart glasses being launched by Samsung. Regardless of the number, all of these devices must run a special version of Google’s Android XR operating system.
However, we currently lack additional information about this newly discovered device and will share an update once we know more.
