Former India captain and 1983 World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth, on his YouTube channel, came down heavily on Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag for his poor performance with the bat in IPL 2026.
While the Royals are third on the points table after winning each of their first four matches, but losing the next two, Parag’s form with the bat has left much to be desired. He has scored only 61 runs in 6 matches at a strike rate of 122 and has not been able to make much impact with the bat.
‘In the race to become the worst batsman’ – Kris Srikkanth on Parag and Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane has scored 152 runs in 7 matches so far at a strike rate of around 145, but the team he is leading – Kolkata Knight Riders – is last in the points table with only 1 win in 7 matches.
As soon as Srikanth was criticizing Riyan Parag, Rahane also entered the debate.
Srikkanth said, “Parag, as always, is fit only for his stylish moves after doing nothing with bat and ball. There is a competition between him and Rahane as to who is the worst batsman. Parag did well in one season and that’s it.”

‘They will only fight for 9th vs 10th’ – Kris Srikkanth on KKR and LSG
While Rahane-led KKR are last on the points table, Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants are at ninth position with just two wins and three losses from six matches.
Kris Srikkanth said that he does not believe that any team can go up in the points table and these two teams will face each other to avoid the 10th position. On the other hand, they backed seventh-placed Mumbai Indians to make a comeback and even qualify for the playoffs.
“MI has the potential to perform well in big matches, which could suddenly propel them into the playoffs. After this match, no one can write MI out. Of course, KKR and LSG are already out. They will only fight for 9th vs 10th.” he adds.
‘He’s a Test match player who plays T20’ – Kris Srikkanth on DC batsman
Kris Srikkanth also reflected on the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals on Tuesday and picked the former player as his favourite.
He said that DC’s current No. 3, Karun Nair, was not a good enough batsman for the T20 format and that would give SRH an edge in this competition.
“SRH will be the favourites. DC have a problem at No.3. They are playing Karun Nair there. He is a Test match player who has been playing T20.” he concluded
