If there’s one thing I always pay attention to when I’m in Paris, it’s handbags. The French live in basic and vintage things, it’s hard to find something you can actually buy and sometimes bring home but bags… they’re charming. If you like to watch people, you’re like me. When traveling, I’m always looking around to see what the locals are actually wearing. Last time I visited, I found myself noticing the same brands over and over again – on the subway, when I went shopping in boutiques and even hanging out outside the apartment I stayed in.
What stood out was not just the mix of power house and exciting new brands, but how effortlessly they were styled. If you don’t get a new bag after reading this article, at least look at the outfits worn by every woman. Nothing looks overly expensive or tried on. All the looks feel very lived-in, very intentional and very French. Below, the handbag brands I really couldn’t stop looking at.

poline
Polen has been generating quite a buzz on the internet lately for her classic styles that fit in perfectly with the general iconic. French style. It’s the perfect blend of thoughtful design and (relatively) accessible pricing that makes it a no-brainer.
Longchamp
The return of Longchamp is very real, and honestly it has never left Paris. Le Pliage Tote, in particular, has been passed down for generations at this point in both French and American families. Their bags are overall practical, neat and somehow always attractive.
rouge
Rouge bags bring that distinctly French, slightly vintage energy that feels straight out of a Left Bank daydream. When you walk the streets of Le Marais and discover the stores, you always feel as if you have found a hidden gem. Think structured shapes, rich tones and a hint of retro charm.
Eleme
Eleme is one of those brands that the fashion world quietly adores, and it shows. The soft suede texture and curved silhouette feel directional without being loud, making them incredibly wearable. This is the kind of bag that subtly elevates an outfit without ever overpowering it.
