Dave Grohl has recalled how he felt “dejected” after drinking two bottles of expensive wine at an A-list actor’s house.
during an appearance on Cooking podcast, the Foo Fighters front man recounted a time when he attended a dinner at “a very famous actor’s house.”
Even though Dave didn’t reveal the actor’s name, he did explain how he bought a “cool” bottle of wine from a Napa Valley vineyard as a gift for the host.
“I was invited to the house of a very famous actor, who I had never met before,” he told co-hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.
“At the time, I was the only person who drank wine here at this dinner. So, I have this bottle of wine left, and it’s great. I drank it like Pepsi. I was like, ‘Wuuuuah.’ And then, another bottle arrived. And I’m, like, ‘F**k, this is great.’ Destroy that bottle. I’m like, ‘This is the best wine I’ve ever had in my life, it’s amazing,'” the musician further recalled.
Next day, the best of you The rocker emailed the actor to thank him for inviting him to dinner and to ask the brand of wine he was drinking.
“And it was a Chateau Haut-Brion. I had no idea. So, I Googled it. Oh my God. I had just drank $20,000 worth of wine. I was so embarrassed. So, I immediately emailed this person and said, @I’m so f**king sorry,” the 57-year-old sighs.
But Dave was surprised to see that the actor was not too upset. “And the reaction was, ‘That’s what it’s for,'” he smiled.
