What does good networking really look like?
This is Thursday’s “Ask the Readers” question. A reader writes:
I have a question that might be suitable for “Ask Readers”. When has someone reached out to you with a request to network that was compelling and you really wanted to respond?
I’ve seen too many stories of bad networking here – people asking vague questions, not knowing what they want, or reaching out with a request to “network” that’s clearly a veiled inquiry about a job. What does really good networking look like?
I’d love to hear from readers about requests they had the pleasure of answering or about people who really impressed them in networking conversations. It’s especially helpful to hear examples of good networkers who were entry-level in their field.
