While most celebs get a quick pass at the airport during international travel, Machine Gun Kelly is not among the lucky ones as his past is still looming over his head.
​Because the rapper has a history of drug offenses in the international departures unit at the airport, he does not receive priority security screening.

MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, also faced trouble getting an Australian visa and had to wait for eight years.
​The rapper admitted that he now waits in waiting lines at airports like a normal person.
“I still haven’t gotten through (TSA) PreCheck or Global Entry or any sharp stuff in the airport,” MGK shared. “I’m still stuck in the lines like normal days.”
​MGK has been vocal about his sobriety journey, and since the incident at the airport, he has abstained from drinking alcohol.
​He shared on dumb blonde Podcast in 2024, “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink alcohol anymore. I haven’t had a drink since last August.”
MGK explained at the time. “I didn’t tell anyone besides the people closest to me, but last year when we got off the European tour I immediately went to rehab. It was my first time going to rehab, and they gave me a lot of ways to navigate the body and show me where this anger is coming from and ways to calm it down. I finally came to the realization of what my situation was, and I’ve made peace with it, and it’s a constant tightrope walk.”
