Piers Morgan confronted Russell Brand over the comedian’s admission that he slept with a 16-year-old girl when he was 30.
A teaser of Brand’s appearance on Morgan’s show includes a clip from her recent Megyn Kelly Show interview, where she described the encounter as exploitative.
Brand’s interview with Morgan will be available to watch on Friday at 6pm (BST) / 1pm (EST).
Speaking to Megyn Kelly, Russell Brand said, “In Europe and the United Kingdom where I live, the age of consent is 16 and when I was 30, I slept with a 16-year-old. But when I was 30, I was a very different person. I was much younger and I was an immature 30-year-old.”
Brand continued, “I recognized that my sexual conduct in the past was selfish. I didn’t give enough thought, hardly thought about…really, how that sex was affecting other people.”
In February 2026, Russell Brand pleaded not guilty in a London court to two additional charges of rape and sexual assault dating back nearly two decades.
Brand, once one of Britain’s most high-profile broadcasters and America’s former husband. Singer Katy Perry has appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London and denied charges of raping a woman and sexually assaulting another woman in 2009.
Brand was a regular on British screens in the 2000s. He was known for his flamboyant style and presence and also worked as a radio presenter for the BBC.
He starred in several films, including “Get Him to the Greek” in 2010, the same year he married Perry. They divorced in 2012 after 14 months of marriage.
By the early 2020s, Brand had faded from mainstream culture and has since appeared extensively online, airing his views on American politics and free speech.
