Meghan Markle is once again at the center of speculation as fresh claims suggest financial concerns were a major factor in her decision to step away from the royal family with Prince Harry.
As Radar Online revealed, when the Duchess of Sussex realized that Prince William would be in charge of the finances forever, she wanted out.
An insider close to the couple told editor-in-chief Dan Wakeford, who wrote in Substack, “When she realized William would be in charge of how much they were getting for the rest of their lives, she wanted out.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle publicly cited a desire for financial independence when they stepped back from royal life in 2020. Since then, the Sussexes have pursued independent ventures.
In particular, Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare how King Charles complained about supporting the Duke’s future wife in addition to himself, William and Kate Middleton.
She wrote that when she told her father about her plans to give up her acting career before proposing to Meghan, Charles said, “There’s not enough money to go around.”
Charles reportedly said, “I can’t pay for anyone else. I already have to pay for your brother and Catherine.”
It is worth mentioning that despite these claims there has been no official confirmation regarding Meghan’s motivations.
