Thoughts on today’s verse…
Christ lives in us and wants to transform us into people who will live, love, and serve like Him (Luke 6:40). Jesus lives in us because the glorious transformational work of the Holy Spirit continues in us (2 Corinthians 3:18). It will continue in us until we see God Face to face in glory and fully prepared to become like Him (1 John 3:1-3). Until we go home to be with Him, He promises to live in us through His Spirit, showing Himself to us and making His home with us (John 14:15-23). Wherever we go and whatever we do, we can trust that He will never leave us or forsake us (Romans 8:32-39). Jesus’ goal for us in this life is for the Holy Spirit to transform us more perfectly into the likeness of Jesus. Let us live in that great hope!
My prayer…
O God, let the presence of Jesus within us inspire us to do Your work today, knowing that as we focus on Jesus, the Holy Spirit is transforming us to be like Him. Through your abiding grace, the presence of your merciful Son, and the power of your Holy Spirit, call us to your character, your loving life, and your concern for others. O Jesus, please use the Holy Spirit to make our hearts like our Father’s heart. Amen.
