A brace was placed around his neck and under his head to prevent movement before he was carefully lifted onto a stretcher. An ambulance was then brought straight to the field to take him for further medical examination.
The atmosphere inside the stadium became tense and the fans watched in complete silence. With Delhi’s difficult surface raising concerns, it seems unlikely that Ngidi will return to the game.

Luckily, Delhi Capitals later shared a much-needed positive update on social media, bringing relief to fans and the cricket fraternity after the horrific scenes on the field. Just over an hour after Ngidi was taken out on a stretcher, the franchise took to

Many supporters thanked the medical staff for their quick response on the field, while others expressed hope that Ngidi would return to action soon without any serious complications.
