My skin-care routine may be more involved than other people’s as a beauty editor, but I try to keep the lineup as streamlined as possible. I have some work to do! People to watch! I can’t commit to a 10-step routine every day. (That said, I do love entering full-on pamper mode on slow Sunday mornings, but these days those are becoming far and few between. I digress!) I try to reflect this MO in my writing as well. After all, it’s my job to make it easy to navigate the ever-expanding beauty market, so I’ll never recommend a treatment or device just for the sake of it. If I’m suggesting adding something new to your routine, rest assured that it contains benefits you can’t already get from your usual serum or moisturizer.
This brings me to my recent recommendation on two magazines: Neuray’s Harmony Treatment Lotion. Lighter than moisturizer but stickier than toner, the calming liquid supercharges the glow-enhancing power of my moisturizer. Yes, it’s technically an extra step, but it has changed my stressed, angry face for the better. Scroll ahead for every detail.
About Neuray Treatment Lotion
First, let’s separate treatment lotion from the other steps of an overall skin care routine. Widely popular in France and Asia, these skin-preparation solutions (which fall under The “Essence” category, although the lotion is a little thicker in texture) enhances the absorption of the active ingredients after you’ve finished – a skin-care primer, if you will. Yet here in the US unlike traditional toners, which often contain astringent ingredients to further purify the skin after cleansing, these light, milky solutions are used primarily for hydration — which, in turn, helps the powerful serums do their job more effectively.

“Think of your skin like a dry sponge. If you put a thick liquid on a dry, hard sponge, it struggles to absorb the moisture. But if you wet that sponge first, it immediately draws the liquid deep into its fibers,” she shares. eliez letangDevelopment Director of Neure. “Without this essential preparation, your high-performance serums cannot reach their full potential.” It’s common in the US to add “active” steps to your routine straight after cleansing, says Letang, which is probably why treatment lotions don’t get as much promotion in the States. “In France, and heavily influenced by Asian layering rituals, we believe that the skin must be properly prepared and ‘awakened’ to really perform,” she says.
To do this, Neuray’s formula calls for biotech-derived high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid, plant-derived squalane and mineral-rich vital water to “pre-wet” the canvas and allow for optimal ingredient absorption. However! healing lotion It’s quite active in its own right, containing neuro-ingredients (a hallmark of the brand) like aperua extract, alpine skullcap, and red indigo extract – all of which have been shown to regulate skin cell messengers and, in turn, fight the physical symptoms of stress (dullness, inflammation, fine lines, etc.).
even if Neuray Treatment Lotion It doesn’t contain the aforementioned neuro-ingredients, but I would still consider it an essential skin-soothing product. it’s just a fabrication divine— Milky and light yet quite luxurious. I’ve tried my fair share of French pharmacy lotions, but Neure’s has a bit more of a consistency that makes it feel sophisticated. I admit that sensuality often comes second to efficacy – which we’ll get to in just a moment – but it is an important factor to consider when dropping coin on luxury formulas. If a product doesn’t taste good, I won’t be inclined to use it!
My Experience and Results
After cleansing my face and towel-drying (not completely, because ideally you want to leave your skin slightly damp before applying the humectant), I apply one to two pumps healing lotion into my palms and pat the solution directly onto my face and neck. The formula usually leaves a slightly dewy glow, but when my skin is particularly dry, it instantly soaks up the hydration — a sure sign I need this extra nourishing step in my routine — with a soft, velvety finish. Then I follow up with my hydrating serum and a generous layer of moisturizer to lock everything in.
If I’m exfoliating — usually with a mandelic acid-infused formula — I’ll apply that cleanser first (exfoliants always work best on clean, dry skin), then lotion, then my usual hydrator. The lotion essentially “re-wets” my skin to enhance the effects of my hyaluronic acid-pumped serums and creams, and I can totally see a difference since adding it to my routine. Read: After applying this, my skin became brighter, calmer and much more bouncy. That ugly redness on my cheeks and around my nose? It practically disappears in the “after” photo, which was taken right after patting down healing lotion In my skin. As you can see in that snapshot above, my skin also reflects light better, resulting in a subtle glow on my cheeks and forehead.
Note, the treatment lotion does have a fair amount of scent (something to keep in mind if you adopt a completely fragrance-free routine), but I personally don’t mind the scent. In fact, I find it quite soothing, and I’m a person with a super sensitive nose. Treatment Lotion Is the Only Scented Part of My Routine — Okay, That Too Neuray’s Harmony SerumWhich claims the same exact scent.
Yes, $150 is a bit high for a hydrating step, but I hesitate to even compare healing lotion For other milky fragrances available in the market. Letang further explains, “While a traditional drugstore lotion may focus on simple hydration, we have created a formula that is incredibly holistic.” “We have achieved a texture that is incredibly sophisticated and transformative, even while maintaining high levels of natural base ingredients. It’s science that feels like a ritual.” Is it worth the expensive price? I would say so, considering that I have tried almost everything to get rid of my angry redness but to no avail.

Harmony Caring Cleanser
You’ve probably heard of cleansers that milk milk from oil, but what about cleansers that milk milk from oil?Jail Formula? When you add water to this silky oil, it turns into a light, velvety emulsion that wipes away all traces of makeup and sunscreen. I’ve been using it as the first step in my double cleansing routine, but it also works wonders as a gentle morning wash. That signature Harmony scent is so invigorating in the morning
According to Letang, the treatment lotion works in conjunction with the brand’s best-selling Harmony Serum. “When you combine the two, you don’t just layer products; the neuro-actions of both formulas combine to target the signals of fatigue and stress within the skin,” she says. “This is the ultimate ‘power couple’ for anyone looking to clear their skin and mind.”
