In high school people called me ‘Laris’ because I was like Paris Hilton.
Naturally, preparation for this recording was something I took very seriously. Interacting with Paris is something I would have yelled at in high school, and it’s something I need to make the most of these days. As a mother, lawyer, and businesswoman, Paris is a woman I admire.
Here’s what I did to prepare, stay grounded, and approach my conversations with poise and presence.
Quiet morning.
After meditating, Michael and I went to breakfast alone without the kids. We discussed our vision for the episode and it was a perfect start to the day.
Glam.
I sat on the glam chair doing some work and talked to Mimi about the schedule, the photoshoot Bossticks Rebrand and ‘run the show’ in the Paris house, or should I say ‘castle’. The entire property was absolutely incredible.
Clothes.
Michael and Mimi helped me choose what to wear. we chose one navy jacket, black trousers and my favorite shoes. It’s important for us to choose things that appeal to us, but we also keep our setting in mind. Paris’s wardrobe is tailored to her tastes, which means a plain white shirt or beige blazer won’t look good on camera.
Preparation and Notes.
Michael and I brainstormed angles and questions for Paris. Personally, I wanted to get him to a place where he felt comfortable talking about his business ventures, which is really a whole other venture. I write notes with pen and paper because it imprints them on my brain even more than using the Notes app on my phone.
On the way home to Paris.
I rewatched the clips from her new documentary that I had bookmarked. His love of music and how it changed his life was obvious to me so I wanted him to speak more on this. Also, I had to ask him about that heating pad for back pain So Michael can buy one and stop complaining every 5 seconds.
