I was at a dinner party recently where someone was wearing the cutest little cape, and I immediately wanted to know where it was from. It turned out to be a British label called Cecily Tell. It felt like perfect timing, because just a few days ago, I was telling a friend that the poncho and cape were coming back, and she almost didn’t believe me.
Shortly after that conversation, he sent me a message Posted by Emily Dawn Long wearing her namesake brand River Shawl With the caption, “That’s a top. That’s a shawl. That’s a scarf. That’s a blanket” – half-jokingly replying, “There are ponchos and capes In“Finally you understood what I meant.
A few weeks later, I saw another at a birthday party. then i noticed a Paloma Wool’s S/S 26 show, which made me take a second look at the spring/summer runway shows. The cape and poncho were also in the collections of Baleniaga, Dior, Paloma Wool and Valentino. After multiple looks, from NYC to Instagram to the runways, my suspicions were confirmed: ponchos and capes are definitely the go-to layers for spring.

Since I tend to get cold, even during the warmer months, I like to wear something comfortable when it’s cool in the evening, when I’m going to a restaurant, and when I’m taking the train. with Cape and poncho, I love how lightweight they are and easy to carry. I’m keeping an eye on it Cecilie Tell’s round long poncho and J.Crew’s cashmere-wool blend poncho for under $200, as well as other options from COS, Massimo Dutti, Neuilly, Pucci, and other brands.
