The ongoing shortage of RAM continues to be a big issue for manufacturers, and it’s now affecting two of our favorite VR headsets. Starting this Sunday, April 19th, the prices of both the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S will increase by $100 and $50 respectively, so if you want Take a headset before hikingNow is your last chance to do so.
according to a blog post From Meta, “the global increase in the price of critical components – particularly memory chips – is impacting nearly every category of consumer electronics, including VR”, meaning that the price of VR hardware is going to be affected in the following ways:
- Meta Quest 3 512GB:
was $499Now $599 (starting April 19th) - Meta Quest 3S 128GB:
was $299Now $349.99 (starting April 19th) - Meta Quest 3S 256GB:
was $399Now $449.99 (starting April 19th)
The price increase will also impact refurbished units sold through Meta’s stores. This is certainly unfortunate, but the good news is that you still have a few days to purchase your Meta Quest headset before you get hit with the price increase.
