As style of dressing becomes more prominent in the circles of Hollywood, it is a paramount question to ask how an actor separates themselves from the grip of the character they have been playing for so long, especially one that has made them a household name. This is something that Sarah Pidgeon is currently facing.
After rising to fame playing Caroline Bessette Kennedy in FX’s dark romantic limited anthology series love storyThe budding superstar has found herself deeply associated with the memorable looks and off-duty moments that have made the former Calvin Klein campaigner such a beloved fashion icon.
Of course, physical similarities aside, including their shared trademark Sporting icy blonde hair, Pidgeon appears to be unable to shake off the simple attire that was so prominent in the decade and later became synonymous with the persona she portrayed on screen.
With his latest outing, this tension reaches new levels as Pidgeon revives one of CBK’s most iconic outfits of all time. Stepping out in Brisbane on the set of her latest project – one of the few celebrities like Pamela Anderson and Meghan Markle to be spotted in Australia this week – the 29-year-old perfectly embraced the ’90s minimalism mode by wearing a spring dress that trend chic lovers have been adopting for years.

For the occasion, she wore a chocolate brown knit dress and knee-high boots, the perfect outfit formula for the pre-summer weather pattern we’re facing, where cool mornings turn to cool afternoons and sun-drenched days.
Of course, with the trained eye, you would also notice that CBK himself was a follower of this group. In fact, she married her husband, John F. This exact silhouette was memorably worn during a casual outing in Manhattan with Kennedy Jr.
Her dress was a fresh-off-the-runway design from the new season, Miu Miu, and was part of the brand’s autumn/winter collection presentation that year, with Kate Moss also walking in the show. Over it she wore a Prada coat, her favorite Selima Optic sunglasses and signature tortoise headband.

It is difficult to say at this stage whether Pidgeon will see fit to shed this new persona as a doyen of contemporary elegance and casual dressing. (We’ll wait for the day she’s decked out in head-to-toe Dries Van Noten to make the call.)
But until then, there are still some things to be learned from this scene. The most obvious thing is that classic style never really goes out of style. So, call it quiet luxury or call it timelessness, but investing in cool basics like cashmere knitwear and leather shoes will always be a wise move.
