Fresh controversy has erupted in conservative circles after former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly questioned Donald Trump over an assassination attempt during the 2024 campaign.Greene was once a strong ally of Trump, but has now joined a group of his supporters who are raising doubts about the shooting at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. “President Trump, of all people, should take the lead in getting the whole truth out,” he said in a posting on Twitter. “Why isn’t he there?” He added. “That’s the question.”The attack occurred on July 13, 2024, when a gunman opened fire during a campaign speech. The suspected shooter was Thomas Matthew Crooks who was shot by a Secret Service sniper just after firing several shots toward the President.
