1 Peter 1:18-19 — Verse of the Day for Friday, April 24, 2026

If value is determined by price, then we are incredibly valuable to God. Our Father took heaven’s most precious treasures and adopted us into His family by redeeming us from sin, evil, and death through the sacrifice of Jesus. Silver and gold pale in comparison to that value. Without this salvation, we were in trouble. we were stuck “A hollow way of life handed down to us”. To know the depth of that hollow way of life, we need to remember who we were before Christ (Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 5:6):

• Dead in our trespasses and sins.
• Following the ways of the evil ruler of the spiritual realm, who is at work among the disobedient.
• To satisfy the desires of our flesh.
• Naturally an object of God’s wrath.
• Powerless and unrighteous sinners living as enemies of God.

But God chose to redeem us through love “The precious blood of Christ, the Lamb without blemish or blemish.” Now that we have been redeemed, Christ presents us before God “Holy, without blemish and without blemish in his sight” (Colossians 1:22) We have been redeemed, we have been freed from our slavery to the emptiness of the sinful life chosen by the world. So, dear brothers and sisters, let us live as God created us: valuable and precious to our Father!
