If you get me started on color combinations, I will almost always come back to pink and red. This is one of those pairings that shouldn’t work on paper, but somehow always does. Whenever I’m stuck in a styling dilemma, it’s an energetic yet romantic combination I almost always reach for.
Stepping out this week, Victoria Beckham did me a favor, styling a body-skimming dress in a delicate shade of light pink and completing the look with simple red strappy sandals. Red sharpens the sweetness of pink, while pink softens the boldness of red, creating a perfect in-between effect.

There is a lightness to this combination which seems especially perfect for summers. Bright, but not overwhelming, and interesting without feeling over-styled. Compared to classic black and white, it has a warmth and coziness that feels more in line with the season.
If your wardrobe is starting to feel a little repetitive, this is an easy way to change things up without getting too out of your comfort zone. Even just a hint, a red sandal with a blush dress, or a pink top with a cherry-tone bag, can completely change the feel of an outfit.
