Containment of a vegetation fire that started in an unincorporated area adjacent to Brea reached 71% by Sunday evening, according to Orange County fire officials, and all evacuation warnings were lifted as crews continued to make gains.

By 6 p.m., the fire had grown to 200 acres as air resources and ground crews battled steep, narrow terrain that was difficult to access.
But after 1:45 am on Sunday, further progress of the fire was stopped and it was 35% contained. As the day progressed, strike teams, hand crews, dozers and water tenders were among the resources deployed to bring the fire under control.
On Sunday afternoon the fire authority… Tweeted that drones are being used “Pindicating heat sources and providing real-time visuals to support firefighters and incident command.” The accompanying footage showed an aerial view of black earth surrounded by trees.
As of 10 a.m., Carbon Canyon Road was completely closed in both directions from Brea Hills Avenue to Ruby Street. Evacuation warnings were also lifted for Olinda Village and Hollydale, and an evacuation center was closed at the Chino Hills Community Center.
