After years of being apart, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are finally getting back together. Insiders have revealed that their old friends Rob and Michelle Renner’s recent tragedy has brought them back together.
“Tom met Nicole around the same time as Rob and Michelle became a couple and their relationship went through a similar transition,” an insider told Radar Online.
Tom and Nicole were Hollywood’s power couple during their 11-year marriage. They adopted two children together: Bella and Connor. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2001.
Now, sources claim that Rob and Michelle’s death has brought the former couple closer and they are “reminiscing about how close they were when they were a young couple” – even going on double dates.
According to the insider, “Nicole knows her kids are really eager to have their parents in the same room again, so she’s determined to make it happen.”
While the source said the move is “huge” considering both Tom and Nicole haven’t spoken in years, “enough time has passed that they’ve both been able to let it go.”
The source also revealed, “They’ve had some positive conversations recently, which gives everyone hope that this can actually move forward.”
The murder of Rob and Michelle Renner was reportedly a “gut check” for the Mission: Impossible star about how much he and the Babydoll actress “shared and still have in common.”
“They’ve been supporting each other through all of this,” the source said. “Finally they’re at a place where they’re ready to break bread together.”
It’s worth mentioning that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are also currently single as the actress filed for divorce from Keith Urban and the actor split from Ana de Armas last summer.
