Willie Nelson is reportedly fearing retirement from music amid his United States tour.
An insider told radar online Nelson always thought that “if he didn’t perform and entertain the crowds he would die” but now he is shaken by the fear of leaving music as he will turn 93 on April 29.
The iconic American singer and guitarist performed in North Carolina on April 28, a day before his birthday, and is now preparing for his shows in New Braunfels and Waco.
Even though he is trying his best to entertain his fans, his body is asking him to slow down due to increasing age.
“He is weak, can’t stand straight and has to work sitting. He also has trouble breathing,” the source told the outlet.
People close to Nelson are pressuring him to say goodbye to music, especially touring, but he is telling them he is “not retiring.”
The insider said, “He needs his fans as much as they need him. His wife, Annie, and eight children mean a lot to him – but Willie’s first love was always his music. It’s what keeps him going.”
