Sam Neill recently revealed that he has defeated cancer after years of treatment.
78-year-old New Zealand actor gave an interview to Australia 7 newsWhere he reflected on how his life changed after being diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, five years ago.
Expressing his views, Neil said, “I’ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years and I was on chemotherapy and quite a miserable business but it was keeping me alive.”
“Then the chemo stopped working. I was at a loss and felt like I was passing out, which was obviously not ideal,” he said.

Fortunately, CAR T-cell therapy showed results, and he had to take sessions every two weeks for a long time.
Neil was in remission for the last twelve years and has now been declared cancer-free, after his scans showed nothing for a year.
“I’ve just had a scan and there’s no cancer in my body, which is extraordinary,” Sam Neill said.
