Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves beef. Now, she is collaborating with her one-time enemy on her upcoming album, middle of nowhere.
“To be honest, we just got together after not being friends for years,” the 37-year-old told Variety.
In the interview, Musgraves was scrolling through Instagram and spotted Lambert riding one of her horses. Then a thought came to his mind.
“The idea came to me one day when I saw her riding one of her horses on Instagram, and I thought, ‘Okay, I guess we have two things in common: horses and divorce.'”
‘And I said, “Wait, it’s a song,” she explains. Then I took it a step further: ‘What if I write it with him? What if it’s a duet?
Thinking out loud, Musgraves finally decided to reach out to Lambert. ‘Fuck, I’m about to arrive.’
“I hadn’t talked to him in years and I was like, ‘Hey, I have this idea. If anyone would understand it, it would be you. We’ve done our thing over the years, but it would be really fun.'”
And Miranda, in response, replied to her, “And she was like, ‘I’m down.'”
Meanwhile, the Muses announced their Middle of Nowhere tour.
