Not long after the launch of Disney’s own vertical content feed, Netflix has now launched a visual overhaul for its mobile app, Which brings a vertical layout specially designed for small devices. The Netflix app, officially dubbed “Clips,” now gives users a personalized vertical video feed that acts as a highlight reel for content. Elizabeth Stone, Netflix’s Chief Product and Technology Officer comments:

Mobile is an important part of how Netflix members stay connected to their favorite entertainment. With our enhanced navigation and Clips, along with our new vertical video feed, we’re building on past learnings to deliver an experience tailored to the way members want to enjoy Netflix on their phones: for in-between moments, to discover a new title, or for a quick laugh. Our goal is to make your mobile experience as entertaining as what you watch, creating increasingly personalized, immersive experiences for any mood or moment. This is just the beginning.

Netflix says the new video feed is designed to eliminate “endless scrolling” and will serve up smaller pieces of content tailored to individual tastes. The interface lets viewers easily add titles to “My List” or share specific moments and recommendations with friends via text and social media directly from the feed.

The platform also plans to expand Clips to include podcasts, live programming, and exclusive collections based on specific genres or interests. The company is also set to begin testing “Clips” collections in the near future to further refine the way users browse curated content.

The new update will be available starting today in several countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, and South Africa; A global rollout is expected in the coming months.
