The sequel features several new characters, in addition to the return of Andy’s best friend Lily (Tracie Thomas). From Miranda’s assistants Amari (Simone Ashley) and Charlie (Caleb Hearon) to Andy’s new assistant Jin (Helen Shen), there’s a young, but not overly aware, group of employees who reflect today’s savvy and haphazard fashion landscape, without as derogatory As Emily. Plus, there’s a new boyfriend who isn’t at all horrible like Nate!
We also get some new big-name actors, like Lucy Liu as wealthy philanthropist Sasha and Justin Theroux as her dirty ex-husband Benji. But my ultimate joy came from seeing all the half-second cameos from today’s most viral celebrities (Paige DeSorbo, Amelia Demoldenberg) and supermodels (Heidi Klum, Ashley Graham), as well as plot points with iconic designers (Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs). And yes, as it was already leaked, Lady Gaga herself makes a cameo, and her performance does not disappoint.
