After stepping back from his eponymous brand, Dries Van Noten has opened a foundation in a palazzo in Venice dedicated to craft, beauty and things made with hand and soul. BOF’s Tim Blanks spoke to the designer about why, in bad times, creating something beautiful is the only real form of protest.
