listening to father’s heart
You know son, sometimes I ask my sons and daughters to do things that seem extreme and foolish. I asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. I told my son Joshua to go around Jericho seven times and blow the trumpet so that the walls would fall. I told a man to take a bath in the lake to cure his leprosy. I made my son put mud in the eyes of a blind man. I ask my servants to do these things to test their obedience. Apparent stupidity confronts intelligence, forcing one to respond only through faith. I long to see the faith of my children more than to see them use their skills and abilities. I want you to hear my voice and follow my leadership in everything you do. This is how faith is manifested and this is how I am glorified. Faith is demonstrated through obedience.
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise ones, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the mighty ones; And God has chosen the lowly and insignificant things of the world, and has chosen the things that are not, in order to make the things that are worthless, so that no creature should boast before Him. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
