King Charles was warmly welcomed when he visited Bermuda for a solo royal visit.
The king made his first royal visit as sovereign to the British Overseas Territory on Friday, leaving Queen Camilla in the US.
Buckingham Palace released a video clip of Charles’ warm welcome via the royal family’s official Instagram handle.
A thank you message shared in the caption read: “What a wonderful welcome to Bermuda! Thank you to everyone who came out to say hello.”
It further reads, “In King’s Square, the King was formally welcomed to the island with a military ceremony and a 21-gun salute by the Royal Bermuda Regiment.”
Earlier in the day, the palace announced Charles’ engagement in Bermuda, saying, “Today, the King will undertake a day-long engagement in Bermuda, which will mark Her Majesty’s first royal visit as Sovereign of a British Overseas Territory.”
It comes as King Charles and Queen Camilla conclude a four-day state visit to the US. With a quick stop by the White House, their dignitaries bid farewell to President Donald Trump on Thursday.
