In view of the fall/winter 2026 runway season, I spent hours looking at practically every single look, zooming in on things like scarves (tied in every way possible), dramatic jewelry, big belts, and most of all, shoes. The latter is arguably the most bought category that debuts on the catwalks each season, but if you want to recognize the good ones early you will have to pay special attention, because the garments always attract most people’s attention. However, if you know me, you know I always look closely when it comes to shoes, and on the runways this season, one particular shoe color trend has dominated. Forget neutrals—come fall 2026, you’ll want some blue in your footwear collection, whether it’s from Chanel, Prada, or Alaïa, three brands that will shape the blue shoe color trend later this year.
From satin ballet flats Knee-high, hand-stitched wing boots at Carven pradaThere was no shortage of blue shoes on the runways this season, adding a shoe-investment option that’s less “classic” and more exciting, capable of creating an extraordinary outfit every time you wear any pair in your wardrobe. At Chanel, Mathieu Blazy’s viral footwear streak continues with gusto, and his blue and white two-tone mules in patent leather will definitely be one of those styles that runs out of stock in boutiques everywhere when his F/W 26 collection for the French house hits stores. Chemena Kamali went with everyone thigh high boots At Chloé, they were tested in a variety of colors, the most interesting being a royal-blue leather pair adorned with shearling. And we can’t talk about blue shoes on the catwalk this season without mentioning the sexy and sophisticated pumps from Peter Mulier’s departure from Alaïa.

Suffice it to say, designers proved one thing true this season: “something blue” should not be relegated to the wedding category. At least when it comes to shoes, a hint of color can be added to any outfit for any occasion, styled with matching leather pants (Chloé), a tweed skirt suit (Chanel), or a slim-fitting tailored coat (Prada). Sure, styling blue shoes may not be as “easy” as black or brown shoes, but what’s the fun in that? For a better, more interesting option, shop the blue shoes below, with Manolo Blahnik’s elegant options, as well as Prada’s sportier shoes, all making it into the mix.
