Prime Video is the latest streaming service to introduce vertical video feeds to its iPhone app. Here are the details of Prime Video’s new ‘Clips’ vertical video feature, which launches today.

Prime Video’s new ‘Clips’ vertical video feature helps you discover TV shows and movies

Ever since TikTok launched, vertical video has become very popular on social media. But it looks like 2026 is the year when all streaming apps will try their hand in the vertical as well.

Disney+ launched vertical video in March with a feature called ‘Verts.’ Then just last week, worldwide streaming leader Netflix came forward with its new ‘Clips’ vertical video feed.

Now today, Prime Video is also releasing vertical videos using the same ‘Clips’ name.

Clips is a scrollable, short-form vertical video feed that Prime Video first tested for NBA coverage, but is now being launched more broadly, “expanding to include moments from movies and series throughout the Prime Video experience.”

    According to press release: :

To get started, scroll down to the Clips carousel on the Prime Video Mobile home page and tap any clip. You’ll enter a full-screen vertical feed with more personalized clips to browse.

From any clip, you can watch the full title, rent or buy it, subscribe to access it, save the title to a watchlist, or “like” the clip and share it with a friend. Every time you visit the experience, you’ll see something new based on your viewing history.

If you don’t see Clips in your Prime Video app yet, make sure you’re running the latest version of the app. You may also have to wait a bit, as Amazon says the rollout will be gradual.

The feature is “initially being rolled out to select customers on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets in the United States, with the experience becoming fully available on these devices this summer.”

It’s unclear at the moment whether Clips will only be available for Amazon’s own content, or whether third-party subscription offerings (like the recent Apple TV-Peacock bundle) will also get the vertical treatment.

What do you think about this vertical video trend for streaming services? Let us know in the comments.
