Vladimir Putin’s lax air defense led to the death of a popular Russian influencer after his plane was mistaken for a Ukrainian drone, it has been claimed.
Aviation blogger Pavel Koshkin and his passenger Vadim M. were shot while flying a small plane over the Moscow region in a major blunder by the Kremlin.
Both were found dead in the debris in Kolomna, just two miles from the highly sensitive Russian missile plant that produces the deadly Iskanders used over Ukraine.
According to analysts, the wreckage of the Czech-made Alto NG aircraft indicates that they were attacked by a weapon of the Tor surface-to-air missile defense system.
A massive explosion and “a plume of blue smoke”. Sky Reported by a resident.
Officials say 27 kamikaze drones have been downed near Moscow overnight.

But another aviation blogger, Igor Volkov, wrote online: “Shot down… Pavel always flew properly – with all the necessary formalities, a transponder on, with a filed flight plan.”
Volkov, who lived in France, criticized “the stupidity and incompetence of the army”.
He claimed that soldiers were “tired” of drones and “just pressed a button” without thinking.
“And now two people are gone,” he lamented.
Volkov said the late influencer had “working cameras on board”, but he was “sure no one will ever see those recordings”.
The aircraft had a “ballistic parachute system”, an emergency rescue parachute designed to bring down the entire aircraft safely.
It deploys by firing a small rocket which pulls the parachute out very rapidly.
But the parachute material was found tangled at the crash site, indicating low altitude or late activation of the system.
The plane fell near the Oka river.
Authorities said a plane with registration number RA-3401G crashed, killing two people, but did not specify the cause.
There has been no official comment on whether Russian air defenses were to blame for the tragedy.
