We’re just days away from Google I/O 2026, but you don’t have to wait for the big developer event to get a chance to preview Android’s latest progress. Just a few moments ago, Google Announced its new Android Canary 2605 release for testers.

Today’s build comes just over a month after Android Canary 2604 arrived for Pixel hardware, and is available for Pixel 6 and later devices. To get started, you can simply install the appropriate Canary image for your hardware. Google’s Android Flash Tool – With the huge caveat that you may erase all existing data on your phone.
What’s new in Android Canary 2605?
On X, Google’s Mishal Rehman Today’s release is being promoted, pointing out all the blurry new UI effects coming out – it’s not liquid glass, but the pathos is inevitable.
In addition to that new aesthetic, we’re also seeing some familiar changes to the system’s interface, like this new look date time Settings that first appeared in Google’s Android 17 QPR1 beta 2.
